The Poetry Basket includes 36 lesser-known children’s rhymes from anonymous authors and follows the seasons of the year. Suitable for Teachers, Early Year Practitioners, Parents and Carers of children aged 3 to 6.
The Poetry Basket is designed to be used over an academic year, with twelve poems selected for each of the three terms.

The poems are simple and fun. They have lots of actions to promote learning. The words used help to extend vocabulary and often spark a discussion about other related topics , which creates more language learning.
This is conducted as a whole class activities and the children are asking for the words to take home to share with their family.
The poems are perfect. They are easy to learn and the children love them. We have a big book where we print out the poem for the week and add it. The children love 'reading' all of the ones we have learnt and even adding their own.
So simple to teach and such a great way of exploring new vocabulary.

My class are hooked after a visit from Trisha. Trisha did Chop Chop with the class and now we know nearly all of the Autumn poems. They are so simple and Trisha's telling of them is so infectious. We love learning new poems and watching and joining in with the same ones over and over again.
I have been using PB for a few years and I can honestly say I will never stop using it. I work with SEND learners and they love it, they enjoyed most poems and love it when the hear the poems. HIGHLY REMCOMMEND.
The children are really enjoying this and are learning so much from it
Our little ones have been loving Trish's poems. They've picked them up so quickly - I now just have to start making the first movements with my hands and a busy circle time comes into perfect focus. Great for ESL kids. They've put their own stamp on them too - one started knocking on the door after outdoor play, chanting 'knock knock, knockety knock, knock at the bottom and knock at the top...!'
Amazing and so simple but the children LOVE it as do all the adults.
From the moment we decided to record the children reciting these poems , they wanted to be recorded every time time we learnt a new poem. 'Can we have a movie day?!!!!!! ' they would shout!
