Brilliant!

We learn a poem a week in reception and it has built the self confidence of all our children. We have one SEN child who only puts 2 words together when talking and he stands up in front of the class and recites the poem each week. A good range of poems too!

Fun, Engaging Poems

We regularly dip into The Poetry Baskets, for poems linked to topics and special events. Recently my Reception class performed a space themed poem from the basket for World Poetry Day. They were confident and able to stand up in a whole class assembly and perform it from memory, remembering all the words and actions! They love the videos, especially seeing other children performing.

Poetry Basket 2 is just as good as poetry basket 1. Amazing resource for developing language and having fun with words!

Another excellent resource which children and adults love. We have used poetry basket as a weekly planning resource and add activities to enhance the learning and recall of the poem, such as making rockets from boxes, creating snowmen or dressing up and creating a dance. All children in the class have progressed in their language development and love of words.

Children pick up poems quickly.

The children in my childminding setting are already asking for poetry basket on the iPad. They have picked up on the words and actions really quickly including 2 year olds. I am really enjoying their enthusiasm.
